What to look for
Look for actual hemp fiber content (not just “hemp-inspired” branding), an unbleached or natural finish if you want the real material character, and paper weight that suits your use — lighter for journals, heavier for art. Check binding and cover stock too: good paper in a flimsy binding is a short-lived notebook. For cards and correspondence, ask whether the stock is archival-rated if you’re sending something meant to be kept.

Genuine hemp paper is made from hemp fiber rather than wood pulp. Some “hemp” papers are blends — the label or maker should say what percentage is actually hemp.
